acture Pro clients, including our previously introduced reference clients, benefit from our ability to provide qualified process optimisation advice and in-house development capabilities to implement desired functionality or integrate into existing IT infrastructure or software systems. Additional features may be minor extensions to existing features, or entirely new features that either expand upon the existing feature set, or constitute additional unrelated modules within the acture user interface.
As long as a requested feature does not conflict with existing programming logic and is feasible within the constraints of the operating system and hardware, it is generally possible to create it. However, a deep knowledge of the system is required to assess ideas and evaluate the cost benefit of their implementation, so it is important that a partner involves the nextVision team for any acture Pro-related client enquiries as early as possible.
Real world example of a feature customisation
The client plans to document existing refrigeration equipment (fridges, freezers, cooling counters, etc.) across all supermarket locations and would like to note the type, make and overall mass of each item - a significant undertaking across hundreds of supermarkets with varying stock. The request is to efficiently incorporate this documentation into the next routine audit performed at the various locations.
Based on the idea, nextVision creates an initial concept, workshops the proposed solution with the client, and implements a dedicated structure and user interface element within the client's acture Pro instance to record the required data points.
Due to the fact that some refrigeration units already have a barcode, data will primarily be recorded via scanning, and additional specifications will be manually entered. A report will show which locations have already been documented and where the documentation is yet to occur. All data is saved within the acture database and can be viewed and amended during future audits, or centrally via the Panel.
This customisation is feasible because the cost to implement the feature is lower than undertaking the documentation and ongoing management of the recorded information outside of the routine audit and existing system.
Real world example of an integration customisation
The client would prefer all systems to be seamlessly integrated so as to avoid double handling or data clashes. The client already uses a central database which receives updates from various systems (ERP system, point of sale, stock management) multiple times throughout the day.
nextVision implements the required APIs to fetch up to date data for these items to make it available from within acture at any point in time. Therefore, the latest base data is always available from an unchanged source of truth to always reflect the status quo when working with acture in the field.
Further, the same client also has an existing ticketing system that is used widely across the organisation. nextVision therefore customises the system to immediately push tickets entered via acture to the existing ticketing system. Using dynamic status updates, the tickets remain up to date in both systems at all times.
This customisation enables the client to continue working with widely implemented systems without compromises, clashes or duplication, or the requirement to make changes to their central database or ticketing system.
